Chances are as you stroll through the Chico State campus, or prepare yourself for class online or in person, that you have met an international student during your time there. Chico State is home to 368 International students from all backgrounds who chose to pursue their education here. Their road to this amazing University was not without obstacles, and the students have proven to be resilient Wildcats. Tune in to this episode to learn more about international student experiences.
Amra is a first-generation international student from Mongolia at Chico State. He is majoring in Business Administration specializing in Marketing. For some reason, he just likes talking to and spending time with people. And he is sure you will enjoy talking with him too.
Tasha Alexander is an international student advisor and co-chair of the 1st Generation Faculty and Staff Association at CSU, Chico. She has been working in the field of higher education for 19 years and specializes in working with college students from diverse backgrounds – specifically international and first-generation students. As the first in her family tree to earn a college degree, she is passionate about supporting 1st gen students in achieving their academic dreams.
